This trekking tour, will take you from one side of the western wall of the Andes Mountains to the other side, from the town called San Vicente Del Chucuri, to Zapatoca. Enjoy the mix of history and nature while you hike through 16 kms of Ancient road bulit on flat stone. its an amazing hike, where you will be able to see more tan 8 different andean forests including one of the paramos of Colombia. if you are lucky, you can be one of the tourist who gets to observe the friendly but wild Eye-glassed bear. ITINERARY: 2 DAYS
Day 1: departure from Barichara at 10: am. It’s a 3 1/2 hour car ride to the town of Zapatoca. We will visit two towns on the way to Zapatoca: Galan and La fuente, where we will stop to have a cold beverage and stretch our bodies while we walk around the main park and visiti the old churches. Once we arrive to Zapatoca, we will enjoy a pleasant lunch, and a tour around the town. We will also visit the biggest viewing site of Colombia, the “ Mirador Guane”.
Day 2: We will get up at 3:am, to have a quick breakfast and then head out to San Vicente del chucuri to begin our hike, using the "Chiva" ride. Its a 3 hours ride in a cool and typical transportation. Once we arrived to San vicente, we will have a quick lunch, purchase snacks and then head out to begin our hike. its a 16 kms hike. This hike usually lasts from 6:30 to 7 hours. Once we arrive to the other side of the mountain, the car will be waiting for us to bring us back to zapatoca, to have a lunch and continue to Barichara to finish our experience.
